Biography – Jubair Bin Iqbal
Capturing moments through my lens is what I love. I am Jubair Bin Iqbal, a professional photographer based on Bangladesh.
2010 is the year when I started my journey as a professional by turning what once was my hobby to passion and profession for life. I dedicated my life to this path, and the journey has been a quite an exciting one- taking me from IGOs, INGOs, NGOs, and to many other well-known organizations where I could explore and expand my dimensions even further.
Such exposure inspired me to organize my first solo exhibition in 2012 with Bangladesh National Women Lawyers’ Association (BNWLA). Now, I exhibit my knack of photography on global platforms. Apart from having the blessing of working with my passion, I have received more than 100 awards and my artworks have been featured in over 100 major international publications including National Geographic, BBC, CNN, World Bank, Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, Vogue, TIME, Sunday Times, Newsweek, Geo, Stern, Der Spiegel, The Fader, Brand Ein, The Guardian, Marie Claire, Colors, The Economist, The New Internationalist, Kontinente, Amnesty Journal, Courier International, PDN, Die Zeit, Days Japan, Hello, and Sunday Telegraph of London.
I have worked as a member of the jury at several photo contests, such as- the “Photo Festival” organized by Photography Club of Rouf College (PCRC) in 2017, the “Photo Contest” organized by HSTU Photography Club in 2019, and many more. I was also the Vice President of UIU Photography Club (UIUPC).
In 2019, the year of the pandemic, I started working for World Health Organization and am still continuing my assigned tasks. In 2021, I joined Y Magazine as Photography-in-Charge. In 2023 I started working for ZUMA Press.
I am a photographer both by passion and profession, and I love to explore and expose the beauty of the world through photography.
